Fucking Hackerman. Is there a way to display the VM's output in a window/fullscreen on Linux today? The last time I tried this, I had to have a separate cable from the passed-thru (secondary) GPU to another input in my monitor.

Since this innuendo keeps getting reposted, it's worth restating:

AOSP has been and still is a resounding success for everyone.

Perhaps insufficient experience with the pre-AOSP status quo might be clouding the author's judgement.

Prometheus, even by itself.

Definitely use ZFS for the data volumes in order to avoid silent data corruption. If you don't use separate drive for the OS, then you need to look into ZFS on root.

I'd suggest lvmraid which is just mdraid wrapped in LVM. It's a tad simpler to setup and you get the flexibility of LVM, plus the ability to convert from linear to mirror and back as needed. That is you could do a standard install on LVM, then add another disk to LVM and convert the volumes to RAID1. It's all documented under man lvmraid.

Completely reasonable to have this obvious and easy to toggle. In fact it should be opt-in as part of the initial setup flow.

I had no idea. I assumed the maps come from OSM.

None of these things are used in actual server operations.

Most likely. Plus Takeout appeared way before Google was showing any profit maximization signs and didn't even hold the monopoly position it does hold today.

Or why is Google Takeout as good as it is? It's got no business being as useful as it is in a profit-maximizing corpo. 😂 It can be way worse while still technically compliant. Or expect Takeout to get worse over time as Google looks into undermaximized profit streams.

Be completely dumb and install a desktop OS like Ubuntu Desktop. Then remote into it, and use the browser just as normal to download the stuff on it. We'll help you with moving the data off it to your local afterwards. Critically the machine has to have as much storage as needed to store all of your download.
