Good point but it's important to note that in the US, the state definitely interferes with "the market", but only when power is threatened i.e. bailing out the banks instead of the mortgage holders in 2008, subsidies for fossil fuels and the meat industries, and other instances of protecting capital which would otherwise get a boo-boo should it be exposed to either free market forces or something like the efficiency of single payer health care.

Lol cool. It reminds me of 2016 when I checked the Republican party website and on the Donate page the background was a picture of Trump. Then I checked the Democratic party website and on the Donate page the background was a picture of Trump but with a scary red hue.

This is so good, did you make it?

Thanks for the link, I didn't know that. There's also the first "no" which was the Arabs saying no to the UN partition plan of mandatory Palestine.

It reminds me of the buzz on twitter last year about "how much land should Ukraine cede to Russia in exchange for peace" and the general concensus there was also "no".

Very interesting hint. I do agree though, one is wolf in sheep's clothing, other is wolf in wolf's clothing. MLK Jr. had something to say about that:

I have been gravely disappointed with the white moderate. I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negroes' great stumbling block in the stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's "Counciler" or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I can't agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically feels that he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by the myth of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait until a "more convenient season."

After reading the comments and looking at how much each has been up/downvoted, I have no fucking idea.

Good thinking. How do you keep the charge in that range? Software? Mechanical timer for the plug?

[–] bartolomeo@suppo.fi 2 points 11 months ago (3 children)

How have you been powering it? Plugged in 24/7?

That’s why I literally don’t care what happens to either.

Tbh I respect your honesty much more than the cowards who share your opinion but try to stay on their moral high horse by saying "well akshually, both sides bad". If you think Palestinians should get genocided, just say it. If you don't care, just say it. If you do care, just say it.

MLK Jr. had a similar idea about the "moderate white", and there's a good Elie Wiesel quote in the same vein:

I swore never to be silent whenever and wherever human beings endure suffering and humiliation. We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented.

Both sides bad is used by those whose privilege protects them from the ravages of the system they support.

Fighting against being genocided is legitimate !

This is international law. We must uphold international law and promote human rights, because any society that does not, puts the whole world closer to barbarism.
