as for OpenOffice vs Libre Office— IIRC Libre has more recent development on it, which IMHO feels like a good sign for open source software; it’s kept more up to date

Well… they don’t think about you at all except for wanting to squeeze money out of you. If that takes literally squeezing you in a hydraulic press they’d do it as long as the penalty was financial (not jail time for the CEO) but also that the penalty cost was less than the profit they got from murdering you.
This is how every company is now, every billionaire. It sounds like an extreme thought, yes, but .. the absolute ultimate greed is also extreme 🤷♂️
FYI it seems LibreWolf has some telemetry enabled by default. Go into the about:config, search for “telemetry “ & there are about 3 Mozilla URLs that it looks like it might send to 🤷♂️ idk if it’s actively turned on, but seeing those at all was a shock until I overwrote them
Linux!: Had set It up years ago when it was a slog. Came back recently after Windows did this— and it was so much easier.
Work? Yes. The comfort of knowing I’ve put off for one more day the tech ubergods carving my life open? Also yes.

Absolutely fucking not. Took it all to Ubuntu the day after I heard. Couple days later everything I need was set up & a few months later I haven’t looked back
