You're starting to connect the dots.

Any company with a substantial amount of business school people making the decisions will be identical to each other.

The reason why people go to business school is to make sure as many businesses as possible are all fucking over their customers as hard as possible.

They get rewarded by our overlords for normalizing a culture of abuse.

I agree. I always try to use software from my distros repository before anything else.

Flatpaks/appimages are good for when there is no other option.

Sorry that happened to you.

The distro developers should implement a solution so that updating without enough space doesn't break your system. They could prevent the update or at least warn you that there's not enough space and bad things can happen.
