Need hardware with it pre installed with a reason to buy other than because it has Linux

Maybe use the lack of a requirement for a Windows license to bring the price to performance ratio down

If they're really performant machines also helps break the idea Linux is only for old and slow machines, I only ever used to put it on laptops as they were reaching the end of their usefulness, the moment I put it on my pc and a new laptop it changed my perception on it entirely

I also think the majority of technical users still use windows, maybe we should concentrate on getting them first and maybe we'll see more support

I'm out of the loop did they un-release the game?

Problem is buying a car most of the different brands are quite different, there are so many distros that are just Ubuntu underneath that are basically identical with a different desktop

Those are decisions about things everyone already understands, choosing a distro for a new user is like deciding what your favourite photo is from a blurry, black and white album

They would ban it if was really bad because it's illegal for that stuff to exist and they will face much more serious issues as a company if they don't remove it, they're not doing it out of the goodness of they're hearts

Also not a good look for a company to be hosting that stuff in general for their PR, which is determined entirely by the general population's reaction to their actions and not a small group of individuals in powerful positions

You know what you make a good point, I suppose if there's been appropriate chance for people to stop it from happening it's fair enough

This is more just that it's customisable, doesn't look like anything except a terminal until you put a desktop environment on it

(more or less all the options look better than windows but I think the reason for that is they're options and people tend to choose the one they like the look of)

My experience is generally it doesn't just work straight away unless it's something I've hammered out myself

I am also using one of the more DIY distros and window managers though, so I wouldn't expect it to without some attention from me to get it hammered out first

That said, once it's hammered out it continues to work exactly the way I want it to, it doesn't spy on me, it doesn't shove ads down my throat every 5 minutes

Would be an interesting experiment to see how non techy windows/mac users would get on if you just put stock mint/pantheon on their systems but I get the feeling it would not be as smooth as if they just had the thing everyone knows all the flaws of already

Is it from a foreign country trying to take over? In which case that does change things, had assumed this was some kind of revolution from within the country

Is this another country using x to recruit people for their takeover or people from inside the country?

I'm going to assume it's from within otherwise it's a moot point and they should obviously be blocked

However I would argue that speaking out against the government is the most important thing to protect, that's kinda the whole point it exists

If they're threatening/planning violent crime out in the open they're pretty dumb and makes it easy for the country to arrest them for it once they have enough evidence they're actually planning to do it, banning them off social media is not the solution imo

Again, as I said I'm not in any way endorsing X or saying it's a freedom fighter, not saying they haven't done terrible anti freedom of speech things, just that this kind of behaviour from governments towards any social media platform would concern me

That's pretty disgusting
