The platforms are responsible because they curate and serve the content. Their algorithms can be and are exploited, but the fact that they're algorithms doesn't absolve them of responsibility.

Nobody told them they have to serve and intake millions of hours of content every day. If a human editor put that stuff out we'd hold the business accountable for that person's actions.

Algorithms and AI aren't excuses.

Here's the actual statement. It's not truly singling out China for being "China bad."

You guys are lapping up and spreading sinophobia, just as bad as what people are doing on Telegram and Tik Tok.

Pot, meet kettle.

I'm pretty sure this story was blown out of proportion and exaggerated. These people were training and validating the automated systems not watching the cameras 24/7.

That's how AI is trained, manual intervention. It wasn't working as well as they hoped, but it wasn't humans watching cameras in real time.

Yes leftism is just as bad as incel misogyny, I also live in a world without nuance.

Yeah when it comes to fascism, climate change denial, failing to meet the basic needs of citizens, and other conservative platforms, I don't give a shit about their representation

Capitalism wants an uneducated voter base, we can import educated people for jobs

Weird to think that human civilization will collapse out of a misplaced sense of fairness where we think it's better for uninformed people to have a choice even if that choice dooms us all. Liberalism is going to collapse in the silliest way

The link goes into discussion of complexity and parallelism advantages of this approach. That implies that it could be faster

points taken, but what I meant was that they of all people should be able to make the best possible game on their engine. if they were making the game on a new engine it'd be easier to understand if their eyes were bigger than their stomach due to their inexperience

and this fact makes things worse because it's their in-house engine and if they can't make their ideas and execution work on their own framework that's an even bigger failure. It's not like they were trying to learn Unreal while making their game

Transit latency is a tiny tiny fraction of the round trip time for AI processing tasks. Until AI tasks are in the order of milliseconds instead of seconds it's a rounding error.

Yeah, I was gonna say. I'm sure it'll meet my expectations, and I'll be disappointed.
