I like the idea, but 5$/mo for 300 searches isn't worth it, and 10$/mo isn't worth it for unlimited searches either, personally.

Think of how stupid the average AI CEO is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.

These password managers claim your passwords are secure, even if their servers get compromised, which is what is expected from a security standpoint. But that is apparently not the case.

Water is in contact with itself, therefore water is wet

I looked at the community name, looked at the title, and thought to myself "this is the onion". I should go to sleep

I set a friend as an emergency contact for my Bitwarden vault, so he can request access, and if I don't deny it within 2 weeks he's granted access.

I'm also working on a kind of digital dead man switch. Basically, I'll make it so that you give it some last messages, which are assigned to groups of recipients. The service will send you an email at a specified interval (for example, every month) with a link in it. If you don't click on the email a few times, you're marked as dead and the last messages get sent out to their corresponding recipients.

Using someone's open-source software doesn't mean you support them (unless you donate or something)

Aren't there any petitions or pressure campaigns against google's overreach?

This is just an app lock improvement. Google does plenty of overreach, but this is not it.

Bonus points if it has a good story. Also, I'm not going to play DRM-controlled games

I have been self-hosting for a while now with Traefik. It works, but I'd like to give Nginx Proxy Manager a try, it seems easier to manage stuff not in docker.

Edit: btw I'm going to try this out on my RPI, not my hetzner vps, so no risk of breaking anything
