And what do you do with it? I doubt scrapyards are going to take it after this news...

Imagine being so weak that you have to persecute this.

Imagine if it had been the previous president...

Yeah that's one of the bizarre parts of this. They've been to the super bowl 3 times in the last few years. But suddenly THIS year is the conspiracy to get them there.

I've seen this on Facebook. Now and then Facebook will show me a page that follows the investigations into these issues, and if I scroll through the comments, I'll often see, "This is because of DEI!"

On a related note, I'm always amused that people are extremely personally invested in either Boeing or Airbus, as though their next personal jet airliner would never be of the other brand. Kind of like how some people are very loyal to their brand of car and fanboy the hell out of that brand. It just feels like more tribalism to me.

Ah. I wonder if EA went through that with their massively unpopular comment about having a sense of achievement.

Having not played it, or really any other games, I have no opinion on Skyrim. It's insane to downvote people because they dislike something like that. But that will happen here on Lemmy, too.

Yeah, the "hobby" communities here definitely don't have the momentum they had on reddit.

Mods on reddit didn't have the power to slow down the rate of posting. That sounds like anon was posting so much the site's anti-spam measures kicked in. As always we're only hearing one side of the story here.

Are you talking about people breaking in and stealing them? While I agree that was a stupid problem, it's quite a bit different than a remote hacker taking over your brakes while you drive.

lol Listen here, sonny...

A few years ago, Ford was offering an optional electric heating element in the cabin heater of their pickups, because it would warm up much faster than the coolant would (especially if it has a diesel). I wonder if they still do that, because it seems like a nice touch and something that could be used this way, too. (I haven't watched the video.)

Someone figured out how to remotely take control of Chrysler vehicles with the Uconnect 8.4 systems a while back. So people are out there working on these things. Also, the more popular the car, the more likely someone is working on it.

To FCA's credit in that case, they listened to the researchers and implemented several fixes very quickly to address the problem. I wouldn't put it past many manufacturers to do the hands-over-the-ears "la la la" thing when faced with the same situation.
