i'm not caught up on my piracy lore™
who is this person?

[–] nicknonya@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 3 months ago (1 children)

that's a good question, what would happen to the movie if the company behind the drm goes under? i assume that cinemas have some contingency to still be able to play the movie in that case right?

[–] nicknonya@lemmy.blahaj.zone 31 points 3 months ago (4 children)

so what you're saying is that we must infiltrate the drm company and plant a secret backdoor that can be used to bypass the activation key

imma assume you posted this in good faith (in which case you should read my other comment) and explain as best as i can:

non binary and girl aren't mutually exclusive because, among other reasons, non binary is a very large umbrella term (i'm he/they for example, so i could be described as an 'enby guy').

trans and enby are two distinct groups:
you can be trans, you can be enby, and you can be both.
for example i don't consider myself trans because i don't want a different gender than the one i have, i just wanted to do it differently.

as a rule of thumb this whole gender stuff is so loosely defined that it's best to just accept that there will be things you don't get and move on.
the important part isn't understanding someone, it's not treating them like shit when you don't

the dickishness is likely due to that last paragraph:

I'd guess the shitty comments are from people dismissing this as a pile of buzzwords, hopefully if they can understand better then they'll be less shitty :)

this makes it seem like the fault for the chuds behavior relies on op for not being clear enough with their labels, as opposed to with the chuds deciding that someone's chosen self descriptors are somehow incorrect.

this is not helped by how bigots excuse their behavior as just wanting a Fair and Rational Discussion™, ignoring that what they want to "discuss" about is the validity of someone's whole existence.

we should convince them that mercury is the secret to immortality again

i tried it but it was kinda janky for some reason, maybe i just don't know how to properly config it

i tried out plasma on opensuse (in a vm) and liked how they handle panels, i especially liked how i could set the bar to be only as wide as the content inside it.
does anyone know if this is possible in mint?

Cool distros to try (lemmy.blahaj.zone)

I'm pretty comftable with linux mint right now but i want to peruse the wares so to speak, what are some cool or interesting distros that do things differently than mint?

Edit: i dont wanna distro hop people cool your jets, i just wanna look around cos i find it neat :3

Funds are limited at the moment and i'd rather not have a monthly subscription to worry about.
i'm not in the US, if that changes anything

i installed tor to use z-lib cos the clearnet site got taken down. wondering what sites to use to find cool or interesting stuff, and which ones to avoid for the aforementioned horrid images

I've seen multiple people here talk about lucky patcher and wanted to try it out, found the official site though reddit (cos I've had google give me badware links for things like these before) and the site rang every alarm bell in my brain.
From the too-good-to-be-true premise to the red text before the download saying that the app is Perfectly Safe, scanned the apk with virustotal (not perfectly accurate i know) and it returned a bunch of flags.

So is luckypatchers.com the actual site?

Edit: got the apk from the direct download link in the subreddit's about page and ran it on waydroid, seemed legit but also very old and the custom patches would just make the app (YouTube in this case) close instantly.
Might be some google service detecting something's off or maybe the patch is just outdated.
