Does it count as "leaving Reddit" if the Lemmy equiv only has two posts in the last month, and one of them is about "Vulcan Sex Workers"?

but big publishers want to maximize their return on investment, and right now that means wedging live service offerings, loot box mechanics, and micro transactions into whatever genre maintains the most engagement over time.

Oh look, there's Suicide Squad over there. I wonder how it's doing...

100% of my excitement for this game died the second it was revealed to be a live service.

I remember when they announced that Fallout 76 wouldn't have any NPCs. Instant pass. I cannot recall another moment that would cause me to drop any possibility of playing a game more than that.

This whole situation with Suicide Squad reminds me of that, and it's not like Suicide Squad has the name draw like a franchise like Fallout.

I'm going to invoke Poe's Law and not assume this is sarcasm.

Lot of people put TotK as one of their top games, even for how stacked 2023 was. Although, I'd be hard pressed to find anybody labeling it as GotY.

Well, it's definitely captured the Blaxploitation vibe.

I think that was sarcasm.

People often don't care to understand how much work it is to run a Lemmy instance. And the cost. I have my own website and the knowledge/money to start an instance, but I'm certainly not going to actually do that and monopolize the rest of my free time.

Very small still in terms of global users as it is just so insignificant right now, but that will change in the decades to come

Based on what, exactly? Hopes and dreams?

Face it... the metaverse is a dead mall.

I forget that not everybody is using Stable Diffusion over here.
