So, why even mention apple if you're going to justify the developer's actions anyways?

I'm going to go back to blaming the devs now. Nice try defending the people taking money from you. They're banking on your low standards.

I'm all for freedom of sharing information.

Essentially, if you can't protect your secrets yourself, don't make it the government's and taxpayer's responsibility.

Great point.

Now, are they using this as an excuse to not provide a Windows version?

Should be able to create our own DNS, really. It's not that complicated.

The interim would be to provide the direct IP of the website.

Honestly, domain names are kind of retarded in 2025. They're a huge privacy risk and cost money that shouldn't have to be spent.

Already on it.

Everyone should take pride in downloading what they enjoy.

The legal system exists to be manipulated by rich people, for rich people.

We can blame all the rubes that said "they're a business and they need to make money!" for why these corporations now have the power of gods.

This is what happens when society is comprised of useful idiots.

"Access to macOS and Windows releases are currently restricted to sponsors, a 5 USD monthly sponsorship is required."

Really scummy on their part.

You should be able to build from source yourself to get a Windows version, although the process looks like a pain in the ass.

Curse whoever floated the idea to lock releases behind paywalls. We should not encourage this behavior.

Do not give them your money.

Dude. Don't be part of the problem.

[–] pablodaniel@lemmings.world 2 points 23 hours ago

It's a cultural problem.

Most people won't install adblockers unless they're around others to tell/show them how.

Agreed.

Advertising should be illegal.

It's good for the US, too.

Americans don't have to live under the bootheels of corporations.

Update: Decided to go with Torzu from the AUR. Thanks for all of your responses, everyone.
