You've got me curious. Care to elaborate?

Here's hoping you're right.

I hope you're right, but I feel like you're putting too much faith in the average person.

I've heard of people having similar experiences on Mastodon as well. Seems like these smaller communities of early adopters tend to simply be more active and pleasant to interact with.

Then try subscribing to communities that have something of interest to you.

Also came here to recommend Monster Hunter. If these games grab you, there's many hours of play in it for you.

It's the app the comment above me was recommending. I just wanted to make that clear and show that it was available outside the app stores as well.

Agreed. I hate Nintendo and their scummy tactics just like anyone else, but sadly the law is on their side here. Also, they're known for this. Why would you do this and then double down after they start taking down your content.

I am not on Nintendo's side, but I have zero sympathy for someone who does this to themselves.

Not sure if you're on desktop or mobile. On mobile I'm using Mull with uBlock origin in medium mode. I don't see any videos in the article you linked and I don't see most of the annoyances many people complain about.

This is a rather strict setup that can break some sites, but over time you can tune it to make most sites work without intervention on future visits.

I hate Nintendo as much as the next guy, but this isn't answering the OP's question in a reasonable way.

From the post I am assuming they don't want something fiddly like emulators for a "current" system that keep getting taken down and you have to hunt for a new one constantly. Another comment also mentioned performance being an issue for Switch emulation on the Deck.

This might be a solution for some, but it definitely isn't for everyone.
