Not surprising considering there's little to no competition in that price range. Pretty much every not-bad PC headset is $1000+, and heavy hitters like Valve Index haven't had a hardware refresh in years.

Whew, I was getting worried we were one day into 2024 and nobody said this yet.

There was also one string of Tweets in which many seniors from the Overwatch crew blamed Kotick for sabotaging the franchise and ruining Overwatch 2 with terrible decisions from higher up getting in the way of development. I really felt that one since I used to be an OW fan.

Everyone knew something was off when the game director which was extremely passionate (Jeff Kaplan) just straight up left the team after OW2 was announced. Really sucks, but at least we got some context.

Posts like this are so reassuring because it means mods are doing their jobs well :)

Despite looking childish, Snakebird is actually a really good puzzle game that gets very difficult. I played it on my phone and would recommend picking it up.

Were they though? After they fixed the drivers and used proper transition layers for directX they're really decent entry-level cards.

I know reading is hard but you realize this quote was reason #5 of the many reasons listed... I'm not going to copy-paste the article, it's all relevant info.

Honestly you should just stick to Fedora.

Why?

Aside from being based on Fedora 39 now, KDE is now the official desktop environment replacing GNOME. The reasons why are in the article.

The GNOME version of Nobara still exists, but it's going to be the vanilla version shipped without any extensions (probably because many of them broke after moving to Fedora 39)

Who said anything about Linux becoming Windows?

[–] simple@lemmy.world 4 points 11 months ago (2 children)

Dunno, but I suppose you can use piped: https://piped.video/watch?v=98kFh3JpIXk

There has been some controversy in the BattleBit community over the fact that they will implement an anti-cheat that may stop Linux users from playing the game.

Luckily, the developers have confirmed that they will use a new version of the FaceIT anticheat that will still allow Linux/Steam Deck users to keep playing. They will be the first game to implement this feature.

Dear god, I expected old memes but this is super vintage I don't think most people would even know this

Here's hoping they migrate to wiki.gg as Terraria's contributors have a while ago.

As Lemmy starts maturing, there starts being so many communities out there that it's pretty hard to keep track. I've been browsing for about a month now, here's a list of popular communities I've subscribed to that others would find interesting!

Not many of these were noticeable while browsing communities so you may have missed some of these. I've roughly ranked these based on which I'd spend the most time on in each category.

Also note that I would add Kbin communities as well, but federation between Lemmy and Kbin is still not working well, so right now this post is for Lemmy communities only!

General Discussion

Humor & Memes

Technology

Pictures & Videos

Movies & TV

Video Games

And that's it. Whew. Obviously I might have missed some, but these are the most interesting communities for me.

Interested in finding more communities? Check out !newcommunities@lemmy.world to see people showing off their new communities.

Edit: Removed spaces from links, added xbox to games section

Edit 2: android community moved to android@lemdro.id, updated link
