I agree, Kbin's naming conventions are off-putting to me. Now you have FB's claim on 'threads' too, which just adds to the confusion even more...

Glad to see this being shared, this is the type of content the Fediverse needs.
That water looks pristine! Is it dammed up, or is the perspective playing tricks on me?
Did they do something bad?
So, I tried mbin a little bit. I still like the alexandrite ui a little better. Mbin doesn't display images until you go into the post and then click on them from there. I'd rather just see them when I open the post.
I do like the general design though, it seems pretty clean. It does have me wondering if there are any good frontends available for desktop.
I might do that, thanks for the recommendation
I definitely feel like I'd be more into the whole microblogging scene if I could just do it from over here instead. Lol
Exciting times we're in though, that's for sure!
"This is a 100% open source effort, so you could even roll your own, if you want."
Do we like it though? It seems like a good thing (anything has to be better than the currently broken system right?), but after reading some of the comments I'm not sure.
For sure, can't wait to see how this comes along and the useful functionality it will hopefully provide!
Awesome! Thanks for the update, I'll check it out 😁
I'm thinking generally about electronics, because I like tech stuff, but I don't see a reason to limit it to just that category. The idea of a federated review system is kind of what I'm getting at, with the posibility of encompassing things like design, collaboration, speculation for ways to improve, (repairability would be a great thing to cover as well, but I'm not extrememly savvy when it comes to repair!)
I think that a federated library of product reviews/discussions could be a great resource.
