That sounds a hell lot more complicated than installing a linux distro like mint or ubuntu.

90 weeks is more like 20 month and i could calculate that off of my head by knowing that a year has 52 weeks. I would have struggled more with days.

You could make this criticism about any date metric that it gets more or less easy to translate into a different metric.

Weeks are perfectly fine and most commonly used in the business context.

Because these cost relevant money.

Do you know why BMW proposed the subscription for the seat heating? Because it was cheaper to just build it in than to alter it repeatedely during production.

But the board computer will be the same. Communication devices will be the same. The backend servers at KIA will be the same and running services for each car anyway.

There is no relevant cost associated with it.

150$/year, so about 1500$ over thelifespan of a car is far beyond what it costs to implement and maintain these features. If everyone would pay it in the base price it would maybe cost 100$ in total. So already the people paying the base subscription are getting ripped off.

Then include it in the base price and be done with it. Why do they put it in subscription? To mask the actual price and through this pull off a massive price increase for the customer.

How is it different?

They programmed all the features. The technical systems are the same and all that is required for an unlock is them flipping a digital button. There is no real cost on their side to provide these features to non subscription customers too.

Fair point. Unfortunately the prepper movement seems to have many people who lowkey, or highkey are hopeing for societal collapse, so they can use their preperations to an advantage and gain of power.

As the result of apower outage that generally make things not working for everyone and can have adverse effects like people dying, who are dependant on electricity for medical systems, heating in winter, and otherwise adverse effects such as increased injuries etc.?

Wishing for a power outage is nuts. If he wants to try out his toys he can just turn off the main circuit breaker and get a small "power outage" for himself. But that would be boring because the neighbours wouldnt be amazed at how he sits in the light, while the rest of the street sits in the dark.

I dunno, hopeing for a power outtage, just so he can flex his equipment is kinda prepperism.

But how can malware be in the cartridge in the first place? Because someone in management had the ingenious idea, to put a chip with complex code and access rights in what is supposed to be a simple mechanical part.

There is criminal, not civil courts, that were sucessfully drowned in the cum-ex robberies. They gave up on prosecuting people who stole billions from the federal budget, because they were unable to process the amount of files brought by the defense, before the statue of limitations expires.

So if even prosecuting theft of billions of Euros is subject to this tactic smaller civil cases can be too. And the court, because of their lack of technical understanding struggle to assess which files are relevant and which aren't.

Reddit used to have a more vocal communist community, but it got cracked down on in 2016 ehen the platform started peddling heavy to the MAGA fascists.
