What just happened to the number of servers? Did the admins just decide they want to go with quality over quantity? Or does it have something to do with political conditions?

It's better to choose knowingly rather than unknowingly, so... nice.

poor FOSS alternatives

So you’d rather have ADs in place of a Layers panel?

For those who can't read between the linesThe fact that it has ADs, is also considered as one of the factors deciding its quality.
And so is the fact that it can't be run when the internet connectivity is slow/non-existent.
Not considering those features as factors while judging the application just gives incentive to everyone else (including the prepaid ones) to include ADs in their UX.

If this is how we promote them, soon, you'll be seeing ADs (on top of the Subscription fees) in Adobe software.
- Hard to believe? Look at Windows.

Photo pea if you need it on your phone.

I don't get it. Is the default Android app not good enough to do that stuff on Mobile?
If you are using Linux phone, you have KolourPaint,

And if you can build yourself, then you potentially have KolourPaint on Android too.

patents don’t mean shit tho

It'd be safe to say that there's a much higher probability of this kind of a patent being implemented than something that takes real problem solving and engineering to implement. This one is clearly made with to increase revenue and will most probably be pursued by them as much as possible. I can even see them getting royalties for this stuff, from other Smart TV companies.

Things that may hinder this:

  • PR
  • Laws

Really just make forced arbitration illegal and these things will reduce significantly.

HDCP signal is decoded by the TV before being displayed on the screen. The TV has complete control over what is shown to you.

Don't get it wrong: HDCP was not made to protect user interests, but specifically for the publisher and display device OEMs who subscribe to it.

OooOo!
That's some high number of dwnv0t3s!
I wouldn't have realised unless you had replied here.

Nice, but it's also good that everyone is at least free to downvote and see the number of downvotes, unlike YouTube.

All over history, there has been this trend of people misusing technology and then blaming the technology instead of those that misuse it. This trend is detrimental to the technological progress of a civilisation and is one of the driving forces, causing the cycle that our civilisation is stuck in (of losing all tech and history every once a while and then having to start over from the dark ages).
Technology, gives someone the ability to do something, but it is their will that makes them want to do so. If the "something" is considered "bad" for society, then instead of taking away the ability, we need to insist on getting the person to understand, why and how, said "something" is a problem for the society.

Until this problem is fixed, we are going to be stuck at the barrier and the next levels of civilisation shall stay a part of Fiction.

I say stop antagonizing the AI.
The only difference between a skilled artist making it with Photoshop and someone using a Neural Net, is the amount of time and effort put into creating the instance.

If there are to be any laws against these, they need to apply to any and every fake that's convincing enough, no matter the technology used.

Don't blame the gunpowder for the dead person.
People were being killed by thrown stones before that.

  1. I'm not American either.
  2. I assume we all know this thread is a meme. IRS sounds the most memetic
  3. If you paid with cash, the person who accepted the cash most probably had eyes. Eyes along with the human brain, are one of the first tracking devices in human civilisation. The information they save on you are not even subject to the GDPR.
