I guess one reason why no one is paying attention to it is because is the Wi-Fi speed usually the limiting factor?

On a LAN? Pretty easily if you have a gigabit or greater network. Wi-Fi 6 can do close to gigabit but not consistently and needs to be close to an AP, and it's unlikely a bunch of devices using it at the same time will be able to do maintain that peak. Maybe 6E, although I don't have any devices myself that support it.

And WAN speeds of gigabit and greater have become more common, too.

And this ignores the improvements in latency with Wi-Fi 7, which is definitely an issue with traditional Wi-Fi.

Off the top of my head they develop and/or publish:

  • Yakuza series
  • Persona series and everything else from Atlus
  • A bunch of strategy series like Total War and Football Manager
  • Sonic series (as mediocre as they are)

And are planning to bring back some new sequels to Dreamcast era games like Jet Set Radio.

So yeah, not as prominent as their hey-day but they are still developing and publishing good games.

I'd say that just reinforces their point that even "bad" EVs don't have significant issues with range. But yeah, a bit weird to emphasise it.

It's svt-av1, as can be seen from the ffmpeg command in the article.

It's still better to have wired backhaul with multiple APs than a mesh, but it's definitely a decent option if you can't wire it for whatever reason.

Is there a chance the track could bend?

If you care about this, but still want smart home tech, look into Home Assistant and use local-only devices.

This is talking about SMRs and not traditional reactors. SMRs still haven't left the prototype stage, but maybe they'll start to be useful in a decade's time, who knows.

Do you actually need a VM for your use case? You might use docker containers or LXC instead.

Normally I use VMs for situations where a container isn't available (Windows, openwrt) or the VM is better supported (arguably home assistant).
