maybe because of ios where it wasn't even possible to change the default browser until like .... 2020 i think?
and even now all browsers use webkit and are forbidden from loading their own js (aka extensions) anyway
messages between client and server are still encrypted tho so does it really matter
it's was not hard. you just install one and tap "always" the next time you open a link to set it as the default
well ryu do monetize their work and haven't been sued... yet.
bullied to death literally
well the limitation was against republishing the ea-branded versions. there's nothing stopping you from doing whatever you want with the regular source tree and all the code is there, even if some of it is not merged...
some form of monetization is pretty much required (due to the hardware required to reverse engineer) and I'm really fond of the yuzu's and skyline's "early access" model (since it doesn't actually paywall anything, and keeps the project fully open)

cows are vegan too tbf
well they're not completely proprietary...
ea is just latest master, merged with unspecified list of work-in-progress prs, and built together with custom branding.
there's zero proprietary code in it....
but you don't know what code specifically was used to build it.
btw, the game doesn't actually require auth in order to download jar files and launch the game (server's come with online checks enabled by default tho, so you'll only be able to play single player)
does it matter if that license is only needed to download the game? once you have it downloaded, it doesn't matter if the license gets revoked (it only grants you the ability to download the game, and use galaxy online/social features such as achievements and multiplayer)
