Had to look it up because country music ain't my thing and I never know what's going on, anyway, Underwood has chosen to perform at ~~Musky Cunts~~ Orange Cunts inauguration. Oh, and she doesn't want anyone to know her political views, lmao

Her husband didn't get the COVID vaccine and announced it on Instagram and she liked it so it's probably pretty obvious.

Isn’t Snoop Dog going to be there too?

[–] Sabre363@sh.itjust.works 15 points 3 months ago

Noooo, don't say that

[–] yuri@pawb.social 14 points 3 months ago

That's a heavy accusation. The guy loves money, but this seems like a bad move financially for him in the long run. Any data at all to back up this accusation?

I find it fucking hilarious that in 2015 he was calling black artists who would perform at Trump's first inauguration an "uncle tom", only to become my mother's brother Thomas.

[–] Imgonnatrythis@sh.itjust.works 27 points 3 months ago

Well shit. This is unforgivable. Loser.

You guys forgot these people are all filthy rich. Class comes first.

[–] Maeve@kbin.earth 1 points 3 months ago

Class comes first.

That part. And that is the part that needs correction. I feel like a people's market correction.

[–] jaybone@lemmy.world 6 points 3 months ago (2 children)

Does he think the people who voted for Trump actually care about seeing him perform? Fucking stupid.

[–] Passerby6497@lemmy.world 9 points 3 months ago

Yes. Now they have another "one of the good ones" on their side that they can beat about. This totes proves they're not racist /s

The Village People are performing. And they are not supporters of Trump’s politics. It’s so weird.

[–] skulblaka@sh.itjust.works 20 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Actually they are, none of the original members are still in it except one guy who became a raging magat and replacements that he has picked.

[–] jaybone@lemmy.world 5 points 3 months ago (1 children)

They’ve interviewed the guy multiple times about this on TMZ. This doesn’t seem to align with what I’ve seen but I’m on my phone and can’t find a link right now.

He originally opposed the use of the song in rallies, but Trump had an agreement with the record label so he could legally use the song and there was nothing the guy could do about it. That’s why it’s odd to see this.

[–] skulblaka@sh.itjust.works 5 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Double checked my sources; "raging magat" may be a mischaracterization and I retract that. But they are willingly going along with it, no pressure from the label and are trying to say their songs were never gay in any way. He also admits he's made a few more million dollars from YMCA since it's become a conservative talking piece and used in rallies.

[–] jaybone@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago

I’m sure it’s a cash grab. But it’s interesting how he is trying to walk the line in the mainstream media.

[–] jdeath@lemm.ee 8 points 3 months ago

probably something to do with money
