I work in a servo/convenience store and about 3/4 of our drink fridges (all 10 or so doors worth) are the same 4 brands. Probably most of the store is covered under like 7 brands.

Coke, Pepsi, Schweppes, Nestle, Unilever and there goes almost everything edible and drinkable that isn't fresh.

Now here's the scrubber of this all -- If you REALLY want to be serious -- Go to a farmers market.

Oh wait, almost every fucking farmer is a Trump supporter...

I'd rather support a working farmer than an evil corporation

Well obviously - me as well - but I'm being told by extremists here that any support for a Trump supporter makes me a Nazi, and I don't want to be one of those.

[–] frog_brawler@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

Fairly accurate.

Why would you let an extremist dictate how you live your life? First, just do the right thing. Second, by labeling them an extremist you are acknowledging that they are not the normal, not the majority.

Most of the rural people (including many farmers) just want change. Sucks that they fell or are still falling for the bullshit. But many farmers aren't Trump loving conservatives.

Support your local farmer. Have a conversation with them. Maybe you might actually understand each other and make a difference together. This is far better than giving the giant corporation your money and hoping they do the right thing with it. They won't.

You don't even need to support a Trump supporter to be a Nazi, you just need to mention something not great about his main competitor.

  • "Biden could've done better at..." - Nazi
  • "Harris ran a poor campaign." - Nazi
  • "My coworker liked one thing Trump said." - Nazi (you too because Nazi bar)
  • "My coworker doesn't like Harris' position on..." - Nazi

I've never voted for Trump in my life, and I even held my nose and voted for Biden in 2020. I didn't vote for Harris in 2024 because I realized Trump would win my state by 20+% regardless, so I might as well support a third party.

So I guess I'm a Nazi. Well, it was a good run, I guess I need to go punch myself in the face because that's what I do to Nazis...

Oh yeah, I've seen my fair share of it. People here pretend that they're only calling these huge incidences Nazis, but you're exactly right. All you have to do is move a little out of line, and you're eaten by your own.

Large corporate farmers maybe (you've provided no support to your claim). In my experience though (a decade in fine dining, with direct relationships to many market farmers) there are more small farmers without their heads up their asses. They understand how they are being fucked with water rights, climate change and no right to repair. While nobody is doing enough on these things currently, they recognize that trump is gasoline on the fire that disrupts their lives.

[–] frog_brawler@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

A lot of them, sure. Not all of them.

not for long, it seems...
