I contacted our public service media outlet in my country saying it's not morally defensible to be on X. They replied they have an obligation to reach as much of the populace as possible, and thus cannot rule out X as a way to reach out. Very annoying.
Are they on Mastodon?
Strong doubt.
Then their responsibility is to broadcast important information over an open medium that doesnt require registration, and isnt owned and controlled by a foreign adversary
I have the same issues with my gov't at all levels. So annoying.
I mean, they do that too. Through radio and television. But extra info and small announcements would be nice to see on something other than X. I didn't say Mastodon because that would be a very small audience, but I suggested Bluesky at least.
