The UK has announced large-scale policing reforms, including new investments into artificial intelligence and increased Live Facial Recognition (LFR) deployments.

The Home Office has pledged to fund 40 new LFR vans as part of a national program to expand facial recognition capabilities in town centres across England and Wales, according to a white paper published on Monday.

See, USA, that's how you roll out an Orwellian society. This way you can identify undesirables from the comfort of your offices, and then silently dispose of them when nobody is looking. No public executions needed!

It actually doesn't do that. AI cameras such as flock cams have a history of misidentification, even framing unrelated third parties.

This is less Orwell and more Idiocracy.
