I really wish Gamers Nexus would stop using Xitter and start using Mastodon instead.

Or at least use Mastodon in addition to X.

All tech and conscious creators should do this, I can never find vlogbrothers stuff on fedi either.

It's weird how they're all ignoring the Fediverse right now.

You think at the very least they would just duplicate their content to multiple services via a script on a single button press. A very low hanging fruit type of thing to do that would benefit everyone greatly.

The vlogbrothers do an annual survey, I am not massively in their community but I like and trust them, and emjoy nesrly everything they do that I have time to consume. I put in the survey they should post on mastodon if not lemmy.

Or at least use Mastodon in addition to X.

I've actually suggested it to them a couple of times, but never got a response.

Would be so easy to have a script that with a single press of a button posts the same comment to both services.

There are already services that handle this, but personally I hate it when they just mirror their account and forget about it like that.

Unless birdsite.live bot stopped working I see no reason for doing it this way.

Unless birdsite.live bot stopped working I see no reason for doing it this way.

The reason to do it is so the content exists in the Fediverse, and not just on Xitter/Reddit.

It makes it easier for people to migrate over, if the content exists in the new places.

I wish they'd also make their videos available on not YouTube, like Odysee, Nebula, or honestly anything else. I'm trying to cut YouTube from my life, and I'd really like to keep watching GN.

Please let them know your feelings about the Fediverse in one of their YouTube videos via a comment to the video.

The more they hear from us the more they be willing to do it.

Um, can't do that since I don't watch with a logged-in YouTube account.

I can send them an email though, and back it up with a donation (not contingent on them moving, of course, but as payment for blocking their ads).

Sometimes if you want to make a difference you have to make a sacrifice.

Oh that definitely would work better, go for it.

I only mention YouTube comment as it's a low-hanging fruit, but it's definitely not the only fruit on the tree.

That vendor story was so greasy it reminded me to take a shower.

From the early days of Edvard home designing water blocks to cool our then single core CPUs (before any commercial activity) EK has transformed from an in-house everything approach to basically a 'brand & design first' company. And with that, brand and design need to fuel sales growth, not the manufacturing margins per se. Strong branding considerations were def there from the start tho.
