*these
I had originally written that, but I went and looked it up and it actually is "this". ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Y'know when you're right you're right. The lyrics do indeed say "this"
However I'm going to lump it in with Blinded by the Light because it's definitely sang "these" just like Manfred sang "douche" instead of deuce.
Edit: After relistening to the song she actually does say "this" she simply expresses the /ee/ version of the i in "this" so it sounds like "theeeeis"
To most people not paying attention it would sound like "these" but upon closer inspection she is actually saying "this"
Who am I to disagris?
Nuts, Gottem
Caroline, every time. Easy choice.
Sweet Home Alabama really grinds my gears. Neil Young sings about systemic racism in the south and Skynard retorts 'yea some people here are racist ♪ but not all of us are ♪ frig off Neil Young♪ whoa now look at the sky'. Horse shit lyrics, sick composition.

I unironically had no idea.
But "Sweet Caroline" is problematic in a different way. From Wikipedia - "Diamond has provided different explanations for the song's origins. In a 2007 interview, he stated the inspiration for the song was John F. Kennedy's daughter, Caroline, who was 11 years old at the time it was released. Diamond sang the song for her at her 50th birthday celebration in 2007. On December 21, 2011, in an interview on CBS's The Early Show, Diamond said that a magazine cover photo of Caroline as a young child on a horse with her parents created an image in his mind, and the rest of the song came together about five years after seeing the picture. However, in 2014, Diamond said the song was about his then-wife Marcia, but he needed a three-syllable name to fit the melody."
He wrote lyrics about touching each other a few years after seeing her in a photo as a young child?
Gross, classic rock /pop are full of gross stories like that.
I'm the opposite. Any time I hear the 'Caroline' I get aliitle frustrated.

Sweet Home Alabama is just awful
I hate it too, but in it's defense I think it's mostly just over played. That riff is kinda sick.
Lol, when I describe the song to people what I say is almost verbatim: "it sounds like they stumbled upon one really solid guitar riff and were like, fuck it, play that shit for the next 4 minutes! Umm is that gonna be enough for a song? Who gives a shit!"
So yeah, the riff is pretty good
No black people in Alabama or Boston apparently.
I'll be comin home to ba da da!
Sweet Alabama home doesn't sound right, so it's gotta be sweet CAROLINE ^dah dah dah
Oh no! Whichever way I go, 🎵 country roads, take me home 🎵
That's not a hard choice. Have you ever been to Alabama? Nobody wants to be there, not even the natives. Well, at least the ones that aren't inbred.
I actually have driven through. I saw a sign for an apparent mud festival.
What about sweet home alabama or werewolves of london
Warren Zebon FTW!
Zevon? Or did I get whooshed?
Probably wooshed since B and V are next to each other on most keyboards, making it a super easy typo.
Or you could choose the road less traveled.
