There is speculation among gamers and religious analysts about whether the PlayStation controller used by Acutis would be considered a second-class relic by the Church.

Look, there were saints for all sorts of fields they loved to dabble in. His only weakness was he was a gamer, but he did go out of his way to help people. So what is the problem? (Besides that they are milking it)

Would it be the first relic made in a factory? The first with a battery? I'm sure Sony would love this in any case. Some serious PR.

I don't see why there's speculation here. Sandals worn by a saint while preaching would be a second class relic. People are really caught up on the "gamer" part.

The membrane enclosing his heart had been in display? The fuck is wrong with religious people.

Catholicism is maximalist goth. Like I've seen people who didnt grow up catholic not understand that fiction like The Locked Tomb isn't even really parodying it, gilded skulls and enshrined viscera is just part of it.

It’s not only religious people, it’s just people collectively. If you are famous enough someone will want to see/touch/own your hair, your belongings, your undegarments, or the chair you were shot in.

The Holy See wants to be cool so fkn bad when it really just seems to be a factory for horrendous guilt complexes and fascist ideology.
