Ohio Rep.Michael Rulli appeared on Maria Bartiromo's Fox Business News show to say he is appalled at Democrats' rhetoric, which needs to be "toned down." The Ohio Republican must never have seen Trump's tweets or Truth Social posts before. He should check in on that! Or when Donald said in Iowa in July that he "hates" Democrats, saying, "I cannot stand them." Or how about Jan. 6th, when Trump incited a mob of his supporters to attack the US Capitol to cling to power.

Rulli discussed the Charlie Kirk shooting, the only school shooting Republicans have cared about. The Turning Point co-founder seems even more powerful to Republicans after his death, as they use it to silence the opposition. His widow started fundraising days after his death, despite Charlie's $12 million net worth.

Rulli discussed the Charlie Kirk shooting, the only school shooting Republicans have cared about.

That line hits so hard.

[–] mrgoosmoos@lemmy.ca 42 points 6 days ago (1 children)

I know his comment is directed at Democrats in office, not the general populace, but since he brought up Charlie Kirk: Charlie Kirk called for Biden to be executed while he was president.

is THAT the respect you want shown to Trump? because right now you're making lists of people saying things far less offensive

[–] jballs@sh.itjust.works 17 points 6 days ago

A nice-time Charlie Kirk quote: "Joe Biden is a bumbling, dementia filled, alzheimer's, corrupt tyrant who should honestly be put in prison and or given the death penalty for his crimes against America."

Yeah definitely need to rise to their level of respect. /s

You mean constantly calling for his imprisonment and murder?

[–] melsaskca@lemmy.ca 29 points 6 days ago

Sorry but Trump has to earn respect and that ship sailed a long time ago.

So ... he's asking for Democrats to January 6th?

[–] MedicPigBabySaver@lemmy.world 9 points 6 days ago

I'm more for "ok"

Then we can start talking about "the Trump crime family" and how he sniffs little girls hair.

  1. Boo Trump loudly when he talks.
  2. Call him Demented Don.
  3. Consistently threaten Don that you'll leave your post, reject anything he proposes regardless of how it'll help every day Americans
[–] primrosepathspeedrun@anarchist.nexus 28 points 1 week ago (4 children)

Pretend he's not wearing pants. Just refer to his lack of pants and slobbery pronunciation constantly

[–] bobs_monkey@lemmy.zip 21 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Nevermind refer to him as sleepy or crooked in any official address as a matter of habit.

Dont forget that you should get a sticker as big as the tailgate on your truck that looks like you have him bound and gagged in the bed of your truck!

Have Trump act like Biden did.

George W. Bush was a Republican president and didn't get anything like the flak that Trump does. He also didn't behave like Trump does.

[–] Archangel1313@lemmy.ca 38 points 1 week ago

Oh, man...remember when GW was the dumbest president, ever? Oh, if we only knew what was yet to come. Trump makes him look like a Rhodes scholar.

[–] Aatube@kbin.melroy.org 28 points 1 week ago (4 children)

He did lie a lot and rip up quite a bit of international relations things though

It's sad that I want W back. It would still be a massive upgrade, though

[–] stoy@lemmy.zip 21 points 1 week ago (1 children)

When I see old GWB footage I see a US president, trying to do what he believes is best for the nation, I disagree with him on plenty of stuff, but I don't question his commitment.

When I see current Trump footage, I don't see a president, I see either toddler throwing his toys (the US, the US citizens, and the federal government) at the wall and stomping on them, or a stupid spiteful man who is trying desperately to destroy any kind of liberty outside of the weird US conservative sphere.

[–] Bronzebeard@lemmy.zip 5 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Can we not whitewash the atrocities that WBush put on this nation? Is Trump worse? yes. But Bush paved the way for the shit that he's doing.

He lied is into multiple 2-decades long wars that cost us trillions of dollars could have helped everyone in the US have a better life, 10s of thousands of lives lost. He vastly expanded the domestic surveillance apparatus that is plaguing us now. He ushered in the worst economic collapse in a century, them used that crisis to funnel more money to the rich who caused it.

[–] stoy@lemmy.zip 2 points 6 days ago

Oh, I absolutely agree with you, GWB was not a good man, but he knew how to act presidential, you didn't have to be completely embarrassed when you saw him on TV.

[–] DaedalousIlios@pawb.social 51 points 1 week ago

Wow! Look at that: Republicans and Leftists want Democrats to do the same thing for once: treating Trump with less respect!

[–] StrawberryPigtails@lemmy.sdf.org 45 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Sooo.... I'm to treat him with no respect at all? Gotcha!

Booing? Jeering when he talks? Insulting him? Lying about basic and easily fact checked things? Posting stickers all over the place, blaming President "Taco" for things that are not remotely under his control? Can do.

Sorry, my memory is a bit better than the average Republican voter, but I'm sure there are even more "respectful" things I've forgotten.

Fuck off.

[–] Tolookah@discuss.tchncs.de 18 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Don't forget about the fjb bumper stickers and the whole "let's go Brandon"

[–] FistingEnthusiast@lemmynsfw.com 39 points 1 week ago

If conservatives didn't have double standards, they'd have no standards at all

[–] MyOpinion@lemmy.today 27 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Trump deserves the respect of a giant stinking turd.

So wear a weird white fuzzy dress in yell at the president like a lunatic nonstop like MTG did?

[–] TrickDacy@lemmy.world 21 points 1 week ago

Gaslighting is the conservative way

Why not go after his children and their various atrocities, scandals, treasons?

[–] Chozo@fedia.io 17 points 1 week ago

It's unbelievable how they've politicized and weaponized politics, it's incredible.

Ah yes, democrats have politicized politics. I swear, I've never seen a clip where Bartiromo doesn't look and sound absolutely sloshed.
