Stop fucking calling racist propaganda "memes"

Like, it's just handing them the "just a joke bro" because they don't have the shame to even say it when called out anymore.

Racism is about the only part of Trump's platform his voters still like, that's why he's going back to the same old well.

[–] pennomi@lemmy.world 25 points 3 days ago (2 children)

Unfortunately the word “meme” has come to mean “any image shared over the internet”.

[–] Rhaedas@fedia.io 11 points 3 days ago

The origin of the word meme, as well as the concepts before the coining of the term by Richard Dawkins, are all neutral to the subject or purpose. A meme can easily be hate speech if it's spread as any meme is. It's true that its use in popular culture now mainly means something that has spread on the internet (not just an image), but that's only because the internet is the fastest way for anything to travel through large populations.

If only they could use an adjective or two. Like "super racist".

And when the danger subsidizes, it will shit itself.

[–] boonhet@sopuli.xyz 3 points 2 days ago

No that's actually when danger is imminent

Danger includes 3 syllable words on the promoter reportedly, so he has pretty low criteria.

[–] Hermit_Lailoken@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago

This is glorious, thanks for sharing.

[–] resipsaloquitur@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago

Behold, the master race!

[–] blackn1ght@feddit.uk 59 points 3 days ago (3 children)

This would be absolutetly career ending anywhere else.

[–] CluckN@lemmy.world 17 points 2 days ago

Club Penguin perma-ban at the least.

[–] HubertManne@piefed.social 11 points 2 days ago (1 children)

it always gets me all the democrats who have resigned or stepped down from running. Over things that are nothing even before relatively speaking. Waltz I think being the latest.

[–] LodeMike@lemmy.today 10 points 2 days ago

If Joe Biden was president and posted this donald trump would scream from every rooftop about this

[–] Zahille7@lemmy.world -3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

In this day and age I'm not so sure. Look at Europe.

[–] Ibuthyr@feddit.org 3 points 2 days ago

This kind of shit would end just about any career in Europe. What are you talking about? Yes, we have a problem with Nazis. In my opinion an even worse problem, because they act fairly smart. This is why no party would post images like trump does. That would end their cause immediately.

[–] als@lemmy.blahaj.zone 32 points 3 days ago

Trump is racist?

[–] redlemace@lemmy.world 28 points 3 days ago (6 children)

"The world respects America again" ... Yeah sure we do /s Must be a real wild time to be an American. How many still dare to admit being one these days while being abroad ?

[–] Snowclone@lemmy.world 26 points 3 days ago

Well most of us can't afford a plane ticket.

[–] moondoggie@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago

I don’t even admit it when I’m at home by myself. I mean… a guy I know who lives in America does that

[–] Typhoon@lemmy.ca 3 points 2 days ago

What a shithole country.

[–] Wytch@lemmy.zip 3 points 3 days ago (1 children)

The geezers he's talking to who are convinced by his rhetoric are right behind him in age, dementia, IQ, or racism. The rest of us are dealing with daily trauma.

[–] village604@adultswim.fan 2 points 2 days ago

There's a sizeable chunk of the gen Z and alpha generations that love his rhetoric. It's definitely not just old people.

[–] samburwell96@piefed.social 1 points 2 days ago

Shit im scrambling to get out and stay out of this country, I feel like I need to register for a 'im not a dumbass or a bigot, I learned critical thinking' card wherever I go

[–] PattyMcB@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago

I wouldn't even bother going abroad. I'd be too embarrassed

If I was an Obama I'd put together a press conference and say "that orange thing can call me what he likes, at least I don't rape children like he does. Anyone who, so far, has had their name mentioned thousands of times in the Epstein files is not an innocent person, they are just a paedophile trying to distract everyone."

I would not have mentioned anybody by name, and that fat litigious cunt can try to sue me if they want to. The discovery part of it all would be enlightening.

[–] boonhet@sopuli.xyz 10 points 2 days ago

Honestly, Obama would be a lot more subtle. He wouldn't mention the orange at all, probably say something more like "what a great day to not be in the Epstein files" or something better fitting to his sense of humour.

It's still obvious who you're referring to, but also, if Trump reacts it's kind of a confession

[–] Captainvaqina@sh.itjust.works 7 points 2 days ago

38,000 times the fascist pedo is mentioned, and counting.

[–] magnetosphere@fedia.io 15 points 2 days ago

The only thing that surprises me is that it took so long. We all know that Trump is a racist, child-raping POS, so I’m more curious about the people who are genuinely surprised that he did this.

[–] Janx@piefed.social 14 points 3 days ago

100% racist and 100% trying to distract from the fact that he raped kids.

[–] marighost@piefed.social 8 points 3 days ago

Sounds like a classic case of Obama Derangement Syndrome.

[–] Korkki@lemmy.ml 5 points 2 days ago (1 children)

If he says racist shit, then maybe people will stop talking that he is a pedophile that hangs around in cannibal child molestation parties of the global elite.

Racism might be a positive to some and it divides the people who who would normally want to hang him and his buddies for being a pedophile and a rapist.

I remember when Obama was first elected, my grandpa was listening to Rush Limbaugh talking about some political toon that depicted the Obamas dressed in Taliban robes holding AKs and burning the flag in a fireplace (and you know how Rush was).

So yeah. This tracks.

[–] MyOpinion@lemmy.myserv.one 3 points 3 days ago

Sounds like something a MAGAt would love.

There is no low that is low enough for that excuse of a man

[–] csolisr@hub.azkware.net 2 points 3 days ago

As if we didn't already know that his hatred for Obama wasn't at least racially-charged
