Pauline Hanson’s One Nation (PHON) has reaped just over 20 per cent of the vote in Saturday’s South Australian State Election, proving racism is alive and well in the State.

Given how shitty humanity has historically been, I would be happily surprised if any large population isn't at least 20% racist. It's more a matter of how loud the racists think they can be without getting in trouble.

20% is way too low. Plenty of people aren't outwardly racist, but they're racist.

I'm pretty sure the number should be around 87.4%

And on top of that, many people have racist tendencies they aren't even aware of.

IMO unknowingly holding a bigoted opinion applies to everyone but that doesn't make you a bad person in itself. Failing to correct those beliefs when challenged is what makes you a bad person.

And if you add all of those together, that makes 100%

Why is the right wing celebrating this election, even with one nation scoring a PB, it comes at the expense of the left wing parties consolidating more power

One Nation is being heavily astroturfed by the media and Gina the Hutt's bots on social media, so those in right wing echo chambers only hear about how much of a big win for them it was, not the fact that Labor has become the de facto default governing party.

That said, Labor can't afford to ignore the way the political winds are blowing. They lost a lot more votes than expected in their heartland seats in Adelaide, so a less popular government might be at greater risk.
