600,000 people sent in $100 deposits for this thingβ€”!😧 (Dumbass is laughing all the way to the bank. )

For nearly 600,000 Americans who trusted a brand built on the Trump name, the gold phone has become the latest entry in a long record of ventures that took their money and delivered nothing.

They wanted a Trump experience and they got one. Could argue they got what they paid for.

I can't believe they got screwed by Biden AGAIN!

[–] smeenz@lemmy.nz 19 points 1 hour ago

Thanks, Obama !

Next month, they'll drop a few hundred more on the next grift.

Some days I wish I could just put my morals/ethics aside. One good grift and I could be rolling in MAGA money till the day I die.

It's unfortunate I'm unwilling to compromise myself and forgo peaceful sleep for the rest of my life.

Who'd have thought the serial fraudster would defraud them?

What do you mean it was all a scam? Trump is a god fearing Christian! Surely it is the fault of the next non-republican president from the future!

"If you're doing business with a religious son of a bitch, Get. It. In. Writing. His word isn't worth shit, not with the Good Lord telling him how to fuck you on the deal." -William S. Burroughs, Words of Advice for Young People.

FWIW trump isn't really religious, of course.

That's okay, vote for him again. He's going to give you everything you're owed in his third term.

This was nothing but a 60,000,000 dollars loan at 0% interest rate to probably invest in AI and then only return the 100 dollars to those who requested it. Nicely played 🀣

[–] Blackmist@feddit.uk 29 points 3 hours ago

Why would Obama do this? 😭

[–] zeroConnection@programming.dev 32 points 3 hours ago (2 children)

LMAO. I LOVE IT. Such an American thing for a president to scam his own voters. Literally scam them out of money.

They will moan a bit and then say "I would vote for him again" 🀣🀣🀣

The 's' in MAGAs is for submissive.

Make Americans Gimps Again

[–] Heikki2@lemmy.world 5 points 2 hours ago

Is it a scam when you know it'll happen along based on patterns? Masochism is the term I think

[–] cabillaud@lemmy.world 27 points 4 hours ago (3 children)

In a logical world, this would result in 600k less electors for the orange buffon, wouldn't it?

[–] Avicenna@programming.dev 11 points 1 hour ago* (last edited 1 hour ago)

In a logical world this would result in a different president right away but this is the, what, tenth time this is happening? I lost count honestly. The trump coins, the gold phones, the tariffs etc etc. One way or another they were all designed to funnel money from the poor (and sometimes the stupid) to the rich.

[–] matlag@sh.itjust.works 10 points 2 hours ago

Nah. It's obviously someone else's faults because Trump never does anything wrong, ever, and saying this is because of Trump is probably treason or some shit.

And they will listen, conclude he's an admirable man and vote for him again if they have the opportunity.

It would also result in someone going to prison and paying back all the money they stole.

[–] PhoenixDog@lemmy.world 14 points 3 hours ago

Instead this will just encourage the more.

"We wouldn't scam us again! He learned what he did wrong the first time!"

[–] unabart@sh.itjust.works 19 points 4 hours ago

You have to be a special kind of dummy to even want that piece of shit in the first place. Idiot tax collected. Carry on, carrion!

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.cafe 1 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

At least he feels bad about it.

[–] smeenz@lemmy.nz 1 points 1 hour ago

But not bad enough to vote for the other guy

[–] AccoSpoot1@lemmy.world 25 points 5 hours ago
