I don't see anyone else recommending it here but you can also use Traefik, that's what I use. I've set it up so that I can automatically add any docker hosted apps based on the container tags, it makes it convenient to use.

I just got myself some mini PC's and want to set up a k8s lab to strengthen my skills, I was laid off 8mo ago and haven't been able to find a new job.

I want to automate everything I can while building this and was just looking for input on how people might recommend I do it.

I was thinking of using pxeboot to install Debian using preseed to automate the installation.

Then maybe install k8s on VMs on the servers, but I'm not sure if I should do that or just keep it on the hosts themselves. They're decently specced. AMD Ryzen 3 2200 CPUs with 24gb ram and an SSD/NVME combo.

So, any advice for where I should start or tips/tricks?

I didn't realise that they released the images as pdfs too.

That's, not how images like png or jpgs work.

Try stay away from their cheap consumer side stuff, they underspec the hardware and fill it with (useful) bloat that the hardware can barely run.

It depends, it's more that it's off topic for a tech sub.

Also calling for murder is generally frowned on.

I don't want to get banned for answering this.

Yeah no, sounds more like a dig at communism, ya know, the usual rhetoric, hey, look at this dictatorship, as you can clearly see, communism doesn't work

XP started it?

So I've worked in IT for around 18 years now and in that time I've worked for 2 gaming companies, I started my most recent a year ago, but I'm wondering if I should just jump ship for the tech industry again, I'm now waiting for the layoffs in our business unit. I'm an immigrant living on a work permit and losing my job will mean losing the life I've made for myself over the last 4 years, and that terrifies me.

I used to love the company I work for but now I'm wondering if it's worth it anymore.
