Best of luck, particularly if this is the way you try to fix the issue.

It really doesn't matter. No matter how right you think you are: if you do this sort of thing, people will likely think you are being a dick.
gave me a petty little lecture on all kinds of behavior norms, which I one by one refuted
The fact that you're in here ranting about it, and boasting about "refuting" them, shows maybe they had a point.
That's blunt, but... hey. You were asking someone for help, then looking the gift horse in the mouth, then "refuting" suggestions that it could rub people the wrong way. If people weren't already annoyed, that will definitely do the trick.
Maybe you didn't intend to, I can sympathize somewhat, but that is definitely how it comes across just by reading this.
Don't. It's absolutely not worth the hassle, even of pirating it for free.
Good. As if the game wasn't already 100% "mostly negative" (Bethesda game but somehow even lazier), they have breached technological frontiers in being petulant little shits about the obvious feedback that that practice spawns.
Surely .ml would never censor anything!
A lot more of a realistic take than this place fixing every issue with Reddit, to be honest.
Sad is the word. I think "um ackchyually the boredom is on purpose" was my favorite in the bunch.
He was slightly less irritatingly smarmy back when. Myself, I at least took his Skyrim hype with slightly less skepticism than "lol, yeah, pull the other one" before it came out.
These guys are getting harder and harder to take seriously. As disappointing as the game itself is, what the fuck is this? Defensively and passive-aggressively trying to argue with reviewers? Long ramblings on how unfair it is that one of the world's most significant game studios, freshly taken over by enormous capital... gets a little criticism for the flaws it its products? Do you need to be an expert Twinkie mass manufacturing engineer, really, if a new product is, let's say, a tenth of the size and tastes of sawdust?
If they're gonna insinuate it's not the obvious reasons, maybe they should've served up some less obvious reasons - I'm sure they would've been convincing.
This will only apply to some cases, but if everything else fails, a lot of Twitch streamers also upload VODs on youtube. These are mostly unedited streams, but obviously not in real time.
Publically and condescendingly berating a (presumably) grown man in front of his entire family, infantilizing him and the crypto thing, the little power demonstration with the drinks, getting everyone to laugh at the poor jobless bastard?
Not sure how wholesome that seems to me. Chewing someone out in public, especially at dinner, is asshole behavior. Being overbearingly "positive" about it on the surface doesn't really help.
