Linux is a bit heavy for embedded stuff.

Intel's ME for an example, uses Minix.

Isn't the RAM inside the actual SoC with the Apple Silicon line? I haven't really opened any of 'em up.

As for older Macs - sure, I know someone who replaced 8 gigs with 16 on either an Air or Pro model that had 16 available as an option but was shipped with 8. It's just something you do when you have way too many Mac boards lying around at work and your bosses say you can't get a new work laptop.

It's stitched together, it's not a taco bell ad, it's a meme.

How do you even find things that aren't honeypots over there?

I've no interest in guns myself but honestly, everything is so suspicious over there... Cheap ass drugs, supposedly real US dollars, etc...

I'd certainly vote if I was a citizen. Let's maybe see about that again in say 20 years?

Hey now, boner pills aren't useless!

Could the same scientists have been working on cancer treatments? Maybe, but it's not nearly as fun to test.

The entire point of the "new" Settings app is to be dumbed down. To include all the settings from the control panel would go against the entire point of the Settings app.

VSCode is another front in that battle. Things are going slowly, but they’re winning.

They replaced Atom with VSCode, but some of the Atom devs are now working on Zed, which finally has Linux support. Or for a paid alternative, we have the Jetbrains suite, which can be excellent if that's your thing.

For Github, we still have Gitlab as an alternative, but once that goes, we have Gitea or Forgejo to move to.

The thing is that many developers are a vengeful bunch who hate big corps with their enshittification fetishes and love open source solutions. Microsoft has to tread really carefully here.

Ironically, Apple forcing Safari on iPhones is the single greatest thing standing between Chromium and total market domination.

Not that it's a good thing for Apple users, but it's the one remaining reason not to slap a "Not on Chromium? Don't bother visiting" sign on every website. Us Firefox users don't matter, statistically speaking

They were explaining on how the joke flew over your head. If there's reason to think anyone in this exchange is a bot, it'd be you, because you can't really understand jokes even when they're explained to you. Though nowadays, even bots understand jokes, ChatGPT can explain them fairly well.
