thing you just can't buy elsewhere anymore

Yes and no. For example I had to buy double-sided tape and went into four different stores in different areas of my city and only found it in the fourth store after researching.

I checked on Amazon after the fact, and could have had it delivered to my door same-day lol.

I don't believe there's anything you can only buy on Amazon... but it IS so bloody convenient.

I am looking at using Eufy, no subscription. Unsure of potential of it joining the darkside.

Edit: China-owned, so it's a pick-your-poison kind of deal.

There is a small bit of intrigue here, imagine you get to a boss and think, 'this is impossible' but there is an ability to observe a ghost of your character taking the boss on in your gear.

Bare in mind as well that 'AI' has existed as a word in gaming for decades and has nothing to do with LLMs, surely this is achieveable purely with the gaming definition of 'AI' simply coding the PC also as an NPC that reacts to things.

I don't know. It's not really up to me to figure that out, either. Companies should self-report on their AI usage.

That's fine, but they did use AI in development, so whether or not they removed the assets they should not be included in this award category.

I think you are overthinking this mate.

2 shapes are the same colour

2 shapes are filled

2 shapes have four sides

the point of this is that there are multiple distinct properties not found in any member of the remainder set

I don't think there is any problem with using AI art as a placeholder until the real art is ready.

I also don't think there is any problem with being disqualified from a competition that says "No AI Art" for doing so.

Or like they submitted a game to an award that said no AI in development, said they didn't use AI in development, when in reality they did.

If it was about money, these updates would be bundled into a DLC, or they would be focused on churning Haunted Chocolatier out.

ConcernedApe is just a swell guy who loves Stardew Valley

The answer to this post, and almost everything, is to tax the wealthy.

AI is not ruining anything. The people in control of it are.

There is context and nuance to everything. If you think this situation is ALWAYS creepy then I'm afraid you are objectively incorrect.

Children walk up to each other on a playground and butt in and make friends happily. Why do you want us all to be boring robots that never interface?
