I think Anon is selling himself short. Basically, the coworker who gave the lighter would have thought, ”Man, Anon might appreciate this lighter” and kept it around until he had a chance to give it to Anon. At least that’s what I think. Anon is definitely not an NPC.

Still obsessed with the live service gravy train I see. When will they learn? Most people play games for fun, not to live in them. Most game companies failed to replicate WoW’s success because they first focussed on monetization instead of a good experience first. Most companies failed at the live service, also because of it. They focussed on monetization rather than a fun experience.
WB’s CEO thinks that Suicide Squad failed not because it was a terrible game but because no one wants to play a Suicide Squad game. So he thinks Hogwarts based live service would do great because Hogwarts Legacy did well. Talk about not actually understanding what your customers want.
I give it six months.
Same. Chrono Trigger holds surprisingly well. It’s art, music, gameplay, story. Everything. It doesn’t need a remake.
Stardew Valley has some really amazing music. I think ConcernedApe is both amazing musician and an amazing game developer.
And it will be a live service, battle royale with battle passes and cosmetics and skins to buy from an in-game store.
That will be 50 grand, please.
Man, these execs all think alike. It’s almost like they are cloned from the same character creator.
I am totally behind this idea. Let execs make their live service looter with microtransactions and battle passes.
I can’t imagine interacting with strangers.
Signed, me.
I think you are getting it wrong. They tried to sell this game to people who loved Batman Arkham series. And they were simply not interested in a live service, looter shooter, with a terrible story. They always loved a story-driven single player superhero game, which this is not.
Number of people interested in, what is at most a mediocre looter shooter are minimal at best. So, of course, it failed.
No such dialogue option popped up.
