Oh if only Proton could learn this power!

[–] noodlejetski@lemm.ee 77 points 11 months ago (3 children)

Proton has just left Mastodon, probably because too many people called them out on the CEO's views.

Weird how the reaction is almost always "NUH UH BETTER DOUBLE DOWN REALLY HARD" and almost never "wow a lot of people think this way, maybe I should find out why"

Fully agree, but also after an event the extent that CEO did, that's going to be held over their head for years to come. The easiest way to get it out of the air is stopping the constant engagement that's encouraging it. Mastodon was a pretty large source of that.

Been a long time since I stopped finding that funny.

Yeah! They were so close to start fixing things!

too many people called them out on the CEO’s views.

What views?

[–] Stovetop@lemmy.world 69 points 11 months ago

Unfortunately, the average Mastodon user is generally opposed to Trump apologists.

Should your company get a fedivers account?

Let's look at the process:

Start | Are you a nazi or have shitty agendas? | If no, then yes, join.

The thing is Proton while a Privacy Focused Service is still capitalist. The Fediverse is designed to be an FOSS community so not going to be financially growing

They also have an official Lemmy community btw: !librewolf@lemmy.ml

[–] Blaze@lemmy.dbzer0.com 37 points 11 months ago

!librewolf@programming.dev for people who want to avoid .ml

I remember for some time following a LibreWolf community that was hosted on Lemmy from my Mastodon account and wondering why all the LibreWolf team was doing was reposting Lemmy comments (some of which I'd already seen on Lemmy). Then I figured out what was going on, now I know a lot more about ActivityPub. :D

[–] mesamunefire@lemmy.world 7 points 11 months ago

Yep everyone can post everywhere. As long as its fedi!

Funny timing

[–] cupcakezealot@lemmy.blahaj.zone 7 points 11 months ago
