Welcome to the largest gaming community on Lemmy! Discussion for all kinds of games. Video games, tabletop games, card games etc.

Rules

1. Submissions have to be related to games

Video games, tabletop, or otherwise. Posts not related to games will be deleted.

This community is focused on games, of all kinds. Any news item or discussion should be related to gaming in some way.

2. No bigotry or harassment, be civil

No bigotry, hardline stance. Try not to get too heated when entering into a discussion or debate.

We are here to talk and discuss about one of our passions, not fight or be exposed to hate. Posts or responses that are hateful will be deleted to keep the atmosphere good. If repeatedly violated, not only will the comment be deleted but a ban will be handed out as well. We judge each case individually.

3. No excessive self-promotion

Try to keep it to 10% self-promotion / 90% other stuff in your post history.

This is to prevent people from posting for the sole purpose of promoting their own website or social media account.

4. Stay on-topic; no memes, funny videos, giveaways, reposts, or low-effort posts

This community is mostly for discussion and news. Remember to search for the thing you're submitting before posting to see if it's already been posted.

We want to keep the quality of posts high. Therefore, memes, funny videos, low-effort posts and reposts are not allowed. We prohibit giveaways because we cannot be sure that the person holding the giveaway will actually do what they promise.

5. Mark Spoilers and NSFW

Make sure to mark your stuff or it may be removed.

No one wants to be spoiled. Therefore, always mark spoilers. Similarly mark NSFW, in case anyone is browsing in a public space or at work.

6. No linking to piracy

Don't share it here, there are other places to find it. Discussion of piracy is fine.

We don't want us moderators or the admins of lemmy.world to get in trouble for linking to piracy. Therefore, any link to piracy will be removed. Discussion of it is of course allowed.

I forgot they were even making this game. BL3 was kind of bad, the pre sequel was painful. The tiny Tina one was okay but weirdly had no ng+ and shitty dlc. Meh.

People bought that overpriced crap with unnacceptable TOS? I guess I need to accept there is no hope after all.

[–] glitchdx@lemmy.world 1 points 1 hour ago

you think people even read it?

I remember getting borderlands 3 for ps4 and it was literally unplayable, I mean literally it would crash every 2 minutes i couldn’t even make it through the intro. After about 6 crashes in 10 minutes I gave up and uninstalled it, never to try it again. I have a ps5 now but I am not surprised part 4 is the same crap

I bought borderlands 1 primarily for the co-op mode. It never worked, at least on PC, even though it was heavily advertised as having it. I never bought another Boarderlands

[–] zqps@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 hours ago

Yeah the whole series is geared towards co-op, though the first a bit less so than the sequels.

Gotta say I'm surprised people report so many challenges with the games. I've played all four mainline titles, three of them in co-op, and rarely had session troubles and never performance issues.

Sounds like PC gaming.

It's a fun game, and I'm enjoying my time with it, but the fact that I'm getting 40fps at 1080p with a 5080 is frankly ridiculous. Unreal Engine 5 is such a curse on this generation of games.

[–] GuStJaR@lemmy.world 1 points 7 hours ago

Hey, I'm interested. Do you have frame gen on and dlss and still getting 40fps?

[–] Moltz@lemmy.ml 8 points 10 hours ago

News at 11, sky still blue. The series ended with 2.

[–] tfw_no_toiletpaper@lemmy.world 3 points 8 hours ago

I should have bet money on that

[–] TurboHarbinger@feddit.cl 11 points 12 hours ago

Randy you didn't fucking disappoint. This is exactly the game and the results I was expecting

[–] cerebralhawks@lemmy.dbzer0.com 18 points 15 hours ago (2 children)

But but but IGN gave it an 8/10 and said it was the best game in the franchise! Did they lie, are they out of touch, or are they working with publishers to try to smooth over the transition into more expensive games?

[–] EncryptKeeper@lemmy.world 9 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

They noted the perforemance issues in their review

[–] mnemonicmonkeys@sh.itjust.works 6 points 11 hours ago (3 children)

Yet it doesn't seem to negatively effect the score

Don't buy fucking Gearbox games. Jesus fucking shit on a bike chrisy. I have been saying that for over a decade.

[–] capt_wolf@lemmy.world 29 points 17 hours ago* (last edited 17 hours ago)

Gonna just remind everyone, or tell anyone who isn't familiar... Gearbox's Colonial Marines has a typo in an ini file that breaks the game's AI. Gearbox was made aware of it after a modder found it in 2018. They acknowledged it by making a joke, then did nothing...

That one letter typo is still there after 13 years.
