In a Truth Social post on Thursday, Trump announced that he was revising a lawsuit against The New York Times to include the organization’s polling research, which currently shows him tanking on everything from the economy and immigration to his handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files.

Well that's weird. Everyone around me says I'm the best ever. The poll must be lying.

"Yes sir, your new clothes are fabulous! What's that, they look and feel like there's nothing there? And all the peasants are laughing at you for being naked? No no! The clothes are meant to feel and look that way! Everything is fine!"

Any lawyers wanting to take that case really just wanna suck Trump's tiny, deformed, cheeto of a penis.

[–] CosmicTurtle0@lemmy.dbzer0.com 27 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Or they see a bunch of billable hours and mistakenly think that he'll pay.

Or smartly will demand that he pays a fat retainer.

[–] corsicanguppy@lemmy.ca 7 points 3 weeks ago

pays a fat retainer

In advance. He's got a terrible record for repayment.

tiny, deformed, ~~cheeto~~ toadstool from mario of a penis.

As reputable sources have informed us.

[–] magnetosphere@fedia.io 1 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Someone described it that way? Bahahaha!

[–] Hegar@fedia.io 4 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Stormy Daniels - who had first hand knowledge, so to speak.

[–] anomnom@sh.itjust.works 3 points 3 weeks ago

Or at least first finger or 2 knowledge.

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 1 points 3 weeks ago

That's hella disrespectful to Toad.

[–] humanspiral@lemmy.ca 34 points 3 weeks ago (3 children)

This is an intimidation law suit. The fact that its baseless won't matter to others scared to speak out. He's also suing JP Morgan, and ceo Jamie Dimon, for $5B as intimidation because Dimon, at Davos, said the WH should cool down the hostility over migration.

[–] orbitz@lemmy.ca 6 points 3 weeks ago

That's all he knows, how to bully and use any resources at his disposal that will accomplish that. Oh he also wants his bank account numbers going up, which again look at the first statement, is why he bullies. He also bullies for slights which were well earned.

How anyone can see this person as a leader shows a huge lack in education, which is what the Republicans wanted but still this is like giving the world's largest military to a toddler that has discount Goebbels (Miller) doing a ton of their work.

On one hand, I'm genuinely curious to see how the JP Morgan suit pans out. They have vast financial resources, an army of lawyers, and unlike some of the other defendents in Trump's recent lawsuits, a potentially dangerous precedent to be set by settling.

On the other hand, they're both scum and they deserve each other.

[–] dan1101@lemmy.world 1 points 3 weeks ago

They could successfully fight, but is fighting or not fighting best for profits?

[–] njm1314@lemmy.world 4 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

The real question will be whether they're dumb enough to settle with him, dumb enough to bow down and kiss his feet, knowing that as he's proven time and time again that won't stop him from coming after you in the future.

[–] humanspiral@lemmy.ca 1 points 3 weeks ago

CBS, Disney, Columbia U have all bowed down to him. These suits are too frivolous to settle, and they turn NYT, Dimon, Powell, Cook into DNC idols somehow. The purpose is entirely to cower everyone else into submission, and the sycophants to rage against DNC idols and cheer for his anger, in distraction of "tough guy failure" for a European solution to Greenland, or his Mossad agent BFF who suicided in impossible manner under his watch.

Presidents are generally immune from lawsuits because we don't want them being distracted by them, yet this guy can sue whoever he wants?

NYT times should countersue. Why not? We'll see if they can use the ancient legal theory of "He started it!"

[–] ianhclark510@lemmy.blahaj.zone 30 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Presidents are generally immune from lawsuits because ~~we don’t want them being distracted by them~~ the country is run by a cabal of rapists, sociopaths & pedophiles

There fixed it for you 😁

[–] Lost_My_Mind@lemmy.world 1 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

No.....the country is CURRENTLY run by a cabal of rapists, sociopaths & pedophiles.

But not being able to sue the president was in effect long before this shit clown came to be.

[–] njm1314@lemmy.world 3 points 3 weeks ago

I mean I'm pretty sure both readings of that are accurate though.

[–] Soulphite@reddthat.com 13 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

By all counts of the last year, this childfucker can clearly do whatever he wants.. up to and including rape children.

[–] Lost_My_Mind@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago

Stop being right.

[–] timewarp@lemmy.world 9 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

NYT will let him win & claim that anyone who criticizes Trump is antisemitic

[–] dan1101@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago

That is completey ridiculous, so will probably happen.

[–] corsicanguppy@lemmy.ca 9 points 3 weeks ago

NYT [...] should countersue.

I love this for him so much. Let the NYT countersue and force them to declare suing polls as part of his duties or pay up on a 1A fault.

[–] m3t00@piefed.world 18 points 3 weeks ago

hoping the stress of being the victim finally does the trick. save us all the trouble

[–] D_C@sh.itjust.works 15 points 3 weeks ago

"handling of the Epstein files"
If that obese kiddie fiddler actually handled those files he'd start touching himself whilst looking at all the details of the little children that they raped together.

I always upvote the guy who gives the archived copy link. Even if I don't plan on reading that particular story.

Funny, I thought he doesn't read the Times because it's such a "failing" paper and he doesn't associate with losers.

Grump Trump sues cat for $5B because it won’t give him $1B.

[–] HootinNHollerin@lemmy.dbzer0.com 12 points 3 weeks ago
[–] deathbird@mander.xyz 10 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

How many frivolous lawsuits do we need to see tossed out before your ability to sue is at least put under stricter scrutiny?

[–] LadyMeow@lemmy.blahaj.zone 7 points 3 weeks ago

Well, turns out the corrupt as fuck republishits and the spines cavocrats have made it so he’s basically untouchable without revolution, I guess infinity.

[–] BanMe@lemmy.world 7 points 3 weeks ago

I mean in his experience there's definitely a chance they just give him $20 million so why wouldn't he, this is actually rational when you've been allowed to follow toddler logic for a while

[–] possiblylinux127@lemmy.zip 5 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I'm sure that is going to help the polls

[–] dan1101@lemmy.world 3 points 3 weeks ago

I would immediately release a poll about the lawsuit.

[–] runner_g@piefed.blahaj.zone 4 points 3 weeks ago

Grumpy Trumpy can't handle a little bit of truth?
