Another dog she helped was a Saint Bernard named Master Tank. She adopted him from a shelter after he was lost during Hurricane Katrina in 2005, not long after her own Saint Bernard had died. The story has been told but bears repeating. Master Tank belonged to Steve and Dorreen Couture and their grandson, who was 4, recovering from the murder-suicide of his parents and losing his dog during the storm. Bondi said the dog was a ‘walking skeleton’ and ‘dying from heartworms’ when she adopted him.

The Coutures eventually tracked down Master Tank, but instead of giving him back, Bondi hired a lawyer, who accused the Coutures of abusing the dog, which Bondi had renamed Noah. ‘She lied,’ Dorreen told a Palm Beach Post columnist. ‘My little grandson begged her to take the dog home, and she refused. She thought she would just wear us down. That we were unstable people and would just quit.’ The case was settled out of court, with Bondi securing visitation rights, but she never did visit. She got another dog.

She stole a dog from a 4 year old orphan.

Jesus fucking Christ, that's just too absurdly evil for a children's book.

This tracks 100%

I wouldn't call this "Trying to steal a dog" this is somehow worse. Holy shit she sued a kid for abusing his dog that got away during one of the most devastating hurricanes to hit the US, after the murder-suicide of his parents????

We would complain about bad writing if this was in a villain's back story.

That is so increadibly dumb, she had EVERYTHING to gain from reuniting the dog with it's owner, and almost everything to loose by fighting it.

By reuniting the dog with it's owner she would have gotten a massive amount of good PR, regardless of her political affiliation, she would have been seen as someone who cares about family and pets, as someone who cares about the little guy, she would have stood up for keeping traditional values, and overall been seen as a good person.

But no, she is so stupid that she goes against her best interests, gets a shit load of bad PR, is seen as wanting to breakup families and their pets.

I am just massively confused as to how it is impossible for her to do this and think that she is the good guy.

MAGA doesn't send their best. Because they don't have anyone capable of actually doing anything right.

Yes, but then she would have to not be dumb and evil. Which we all know is impossible for her.

Yeah, I just wonder why these people keep making things worse for themselves as soon as they are handed an opportunity to make things slightly better.

I guess it might be the thrill of power, power to deny a family their dog in this example.

I have said it before, and I'll say it again, people who desire power should be disqualified from acquiring it.

Bingo. Exactly.

The people running our countries are the very people that shouldn't be running a country.
Hell, most of them shouldn't be allowed to run a launderette.
