Oh, I fully support his belief in saying what he thinks.

It's always good to know where the morons are so you can avoid them.

[–] Red_October@lemmy.world 67 points 6 months ago (1 children)

I thought kickers usually avoided the kind of brain damage that would explain what could only be described as a blatant attempt to get canceled.

[–] DessertStorms@kbin.social 19 points 6 months ago

a blatant attempt to get canceled.

Except "getting cancelled" isn't a thing, the right will embrace him and give him the platform which is what he is actually aiming for, and he'll be on all their podcasts, and sponsor their brands, and keep most of his fans and gain more, and create a whole comfortable living for himself from being a bigot, like so so so many others before him.

You're a wanker Harry, and a great one.

Get a real job.

[–] Modern_medicine_isnt@lemmy.world 33 points 6 months ago (1 children)

I am less concerned with his opinion, and more concerned a place invited him to speak to graduates... some of whom I assume were women.

[–] Delusional@lemmy.world 4 points 6 months ago* (last edited 6 months ago) (1 children)

Yup it'd be best at that point to usher him away and apologize for the insane bull crap he just said. Can't believe they let him finish rambling stupid shit to everyone.

[–] Modern_medicine_isnt@lemmy.world 1 points 6 months ago

I suspect they knew what he was going to say more or less.

[–] Burn_The_Right@lemmy.world 30 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Is there a such thing as a "good conservative"? Why do they insist on being such cockroaches?

[–] TheOneCurly@lemm.ee 12 points 6 months ago

They are wholly devoted to "conserving" systems that are designed to benefit cis, white, straight, wealthy, men at the expense of everyone else. I'm not sure how that could be "good" no matter how they went about it.

[–] DontMakeMoreBabies@kbin.social 22 points 6 months ago (2 children)

This moron gets paid stupid money to kick a ball and say retarded shit.

Hooray for humanity!

[–] DessertStorms@kbin.social 3 points 6 months ago

And you really couldn't say that without being an ableist shit?

[–] newbeni@lemmy.world 0 points 6 months ago

And here is the best part, he misses.....a lot.

[–] FlashMobOfOne@lemmy.world 19 points 6 months ago* (last edited 6 months ago)

Yup, we've known he's a hardcore Catholic douche for years here in KC. In his shoes, I'd not be so preachy though. People that preachy get their skeletons dug up.

[–] sarcasticsunrise@lemmy.world 18 points 6 months ago (1 children)

As if I needed another reason to hate the Kansas City Chiefs

[–] downpunxx@fedia.io -1 points 6 months ago

I did like what they did to the Baltimore Ravens in the playoffs. Man, I hate NFL dynasties, and I hate Andy Reids parenting, but I hate the Baltimore Ravens above all other things Football, and that's a fact jack.

[–] downpunxx@fedia.io 18 points 6 months ago (1 children)

dude plays contact professional football in a league comprised of 75% people of color, i'm not saying he's going to be targeted this upcoming season, but then again i'm not saying he won't be

[–] Fluffy_Ruffs@lemmy.world 14 points 6 months ago

I think you'll find the negative feelings towards pride month and women's rights are shared amongst many players regardless of their background.

[–] son_named_bort@lemmy.world 18 points 6 months ago (1 children)

He did this during a commencement speech. That makes it even worse. There's a reason why most commencement speeches stick to genetic themes like believing in yourself or doing great things or remember to give the university money or things like that, and it's to avoid whatever this was.

[–] DogWater@lemmy.world 12 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Ohio State had a Bitcoin shill who did psychedelics to write the speech....no that's not a joke

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 3 points 6 months ago

You’d know it’s not a joke if you’d ever been to Columbus. It’s on par with a polyamorous witch doing a commencement speech.

I never considered professional brawlers (I.e. "American" football players) to be smart.

[–] LowtierComputer@lemmy.world 1 points 6 months ago (2 children)

Some of them are very intelligent. I can't say many of them, but some are.

[–] Paradachshund@lemmy.today 2 points 6 months ago

Michael Bennett comes to mind.

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 0 points 6 months ago

They can't be that smart when they keep playing a "sport" that leaves permanent brain damage in many, if not all professionals.

[–] timewarp@lemmy.world 16 points 6 months ago

When will his boyfriend tell the true story?

[–] Zahille7@lemmy.world 12 points 6 months ago

What's that old saying? "Shut up and play ball"?

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 11 points 6 months ago

I wonder if he realizes....

he's a dude in tights.

being chased by other dudes in tights.

and occasionally, fighting over something called a "pigskin".

Also, don't ask what happens in the dogpile. what happens in the dogpile... stays in the dogpile...

[–] notabot@lemm.ee 10 points 6 months ago

Is he still on the team? If so, why? Are they all this twisted and broken?

[–] tyrant@lemmy.world 7 points 6 months ago (3 children)

Well, he just talked himself right off my fantasy football team this year. Nice work bozo!

[–] Fluffy_Ruffs@lemmy.world 14 points 6 months ago

Way to stick it to him

[–] 5oap10116@lemmy.world 5 points 6 months ago

OMG you made him cry wtf?

[–] Letstakealook@lemm.ee 1 points 6 months ago

That literally has nothing to do with anything, lol. Fantasy football has zero impact on the players. Pick your team on schedule and stats.

[–] Dorkyd68@lemmy.world 7 points 6 months ago

Lol. He's a kicker. Who cares what he has to say

Well now its a one horse race. Justin Tucker is the best kicker in the NFL.
