Anon talks about first nations warrior princess. Posts picture of an Italian in brown face....

[–] Frog@lemmy.ca 116 points 1 month ago (4 children)

To be fair, anon also can't tell the truth or if someone is making shit up.

I'd wager the vast majority of people that don't know anything about another person's religion couldn't tell if what they're saying is true or not.

Circumcision, fasting, transubstantiation, without any knowledge or frame of reference there really is no way to tell if someone is just talking out of their ass or not when it comes to religious traditions.

In my culture we sing our religious allegiance to the decapitated head bust of the great dictator who secularised the country

(not even joking)

[–] JokeDeity@lemm.ee 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I've got a lot of probably incorrect guesses. What country?

[–] tetris11@lemmy.ml 7 points 1 month ago

turkey, circa 2000

[–] Mac@mander.xyz 19 points 1 month ago

Relatable tbh

[–] DaMonsterKnees@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago

Damn yo, this doesn't add much to the conversation, but your reading comprehension skills are laudable. Well played, friend!

[–] ColeSloth@discuss.tchncs.de 3 points 1 month ago

What is...potato ?

[–] Soulg@sh.itjust.works 33 points 1 month ago

It's 4chan, that's like the most respectful image he could've possibly used there

[–] not_a_dog@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

Also, the native 'princess' thing is an extremely tired stereotype.

Fake: anon has a gf
Gay: anon likes to look directly at the moon, which means he likes to be mooned

[–] photonic_sorcerer@lemmy.dbzer0.com 14 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Your comment is Gay: stebo02 thinks only of men's asses

[–] stebo02@lemmy.dbzer0.com 12 points 1 month ago

can't argue with that

[–] bane_killgrind@slrpnk.net 10 points 1 month ago

Saiyan: anon looking at the moon grants him great power

[–] RecluseRamble@lemmy.dbzer0.com 7 points 1 month ago (3 children)

"qt3.14" seems pretty authentic though.

[–] Blackmist@feddit.uk 12 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Seems pretty aut-something, but not hentic.

I'm sure there's some henti in there somewhere.

[–] stebo02@lemmy.dbzer0.com 11 points 1 month ago

that's just the native language of 4chan

[–] AnUnusualRelic@lemmy.world 8 points 1 month ago

Seems like a fairly old version though.

[–] JusticeForPorygon@lemmy.world 75 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Google says they can look at the moon just not during a lunar eclipse

[–] Iheartcheese@lemmy.world 63 points 1 month ago (3 children)

That's when it tries to get you

[–] Thcdenton@lemmy.world 29 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Assume the victory position

[–] TriflingToad@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago

I still don't understand what I was supposed to see in the moon, I feel like it was a 'oh shit' moment but idk I couldn't make anything out really

[–] marine_mustang@sh.itjust.works 23 points 1 month ago (1 children)

More like that’s when the spirits are getting it on. Rebirth of the world, that kind of thing. Source: married into Diné.

[–] Fuck_u_spez_@sh.itjust.works 12 points 1 month ago

Nice of the spirits to dim the lights first.

[–] shininghero@pawb.social 12 points 1 month ago (1 children)

ITS IN THE LIGHT
THE MOON CAME IN
HE FOUND ME
THRU THE MIRROR
MOONLIGHT WHITE
WHITE LIKE EYES
NOT LIGHT BUT BLOOD
I DROWN IN HIM
IF YOU ARE AFRAID
WE WILL LOOK TOGETHER

[–] tetris11@lemmy.ml 2 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

(Harvest moon)
I see the days grow shorter
I feel the nights grow cold
I sense the darkness clearer
I feel a presence here

I know they'll find her some day
They find them all that way
After the thaw in springtime
The snow melts away

[–] angrystego@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago

Oh, but that's the BEST time to look!

[–] MBM@lemmings.world 50 points 1 month ago (3 children)

It's amazing how quickly I've become exhausted of "qt3.14"

[–] Frog@lemmy.ca 65 points 1 month ago (2 children)

I know right?

Why would anyone use a version of QT over 20 years old?

[–] brown567@sh.itjust.works 25 points 1 month ago

Calm down, DiCaprio

[–] bamfic@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

Found the linux desktop app dev. Here, have a song: https://youtube.com/watch?v=NbTEVbQLC8s

[–] Rooskie91@discuss.online 17 points 1 month ago

You must have gotten frustrated extremely slowly then, because that's been around since the beginning of /b/

[–] Wirlocke@lemmy.blahaj.zone 8 points 1 month ago

It's like an awful combination of a boomer making a flirtatious "joke" and the hyper nerdy language of The Big Bang Theory show.

[–] drapeaunoir@lemmy.dbzer0.com 21 points 1 month ago

Knows so little he uses an image of Iron Eyes Cody? Nah, seems too ironic to be real.

[–] iAvicenna@lemmy.world 19 points 1 month ago (1 children)

anon apparently also cant use google

[–] Reddfugee42@lemmy.world 17 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (3 children)

People within the supposedly same religion can't agree on things all the time. It's entirely possible that his girlfriend's version of the religion is nothing like what op would find online, or even more likely, that ~~Apple~~ op would find multiple claims online that disagree with each other.

The thing about religion is if looking at the moon is against a religion, but some senior person in that religion really likes to look at the Moon, it'll suddenly be allowed.

"The Internet says you can look at the moon"

"Oh that's regular Navajo. I'm Fundamentalist Navajo. Also, fuck you for arguing with me about my religion. We're through."

[–] shalafi@lemmy.world 13 points 1 month ago (1 children)

He said, "Northern Conservative Baptist Great Lakes Region Council of 1912." I said, "Die, heretic!" And I pushed him over.

I fucking love Emo Phillips.

Saw him and Weird Al in 2018. What a great show.

Then talk to her family about it? This really isn't that difficult...

[–] oatscoop@midwest.social 2 points 1 month ago

"Huh, interesting. Why aren't you supposed to look at the moon?"

Most people aren't psychopaths and actually enjoy sharing their beliefs if you ask in a respectful manner.

[–] Nurse_Robot@lemmy.world 17 points 1 month ago

read an entire novel about Navajo and their crucial importance when it came to coding messages in the world war Remember next to nothing in the one time it's relevant Ah shit

[–] Draegur@lemm.ee 9 points 1 month ago

OOP better not whistle at night either.

[–] nutsack@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

[–] ironhydroxide@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 month ago
