Issue 3: People are stupid enough to wear INTERNET CONNECTED GLASSES while having sex.
Makes you wonder what your phones sees / hears every day.

Most likely the glasses were places on a nightstand or something. They mentioned this in another article. People would place the glasses somewhere thinking they are not recording and undress for example. They would also go into changing rooms while wearing glasses but that's understandable.
I doubt this is always or even often the case, though. Your glasses would have to be somehow pointed directly at you on your bed. Most people would fold them up and set them facing up or in a case.

Perhaps they didn't wear them, the user thought the glasses were off and not recording.
I mean ... You think all of these people just happened to set their glasses down on a nightstand and just happened to be point at them while going at it?
That was my thought. Who the hell wears glasses while they fuck? I mean, did they WANT to record it?
I can't imagine being all nekkid and shit, shaggin someone and wearing those fucking moronic glasses. Those stupid things are a leading cause of vaginal dryness.
What's more surprising is people are getting laid wearing those big ass dork frames

Meta contractors were tasked with viewing peoples glasses video, where the wearers did not appear to know they were being recorded. "For quality purposes". Including using the bathroom. So everytime a glasses user goes to the bathroom, a kenyan could be watching? Every time they enter their online banking credentials, a kenyan could be noting them down? Good god.
Obviously not. That contractor is blown. On to Myanmar!

I don’t understand why the outsourcing firm was punished. As far as I can tell, a thousand people are losing their jobs for no reason. This wasn’t their fault, and I don’t see what problem is being solved here. It makes absolutely no sense.

It's not difficult to understand really. These underpaid slaves failed their task by having morals and complaining too much so they're off to find other slaves that keep quiet..
These concerns were first reported in February 2026, when journalists in Sweden and Kenya spoke to Sama employees. Workers said they had seen videos that appeared to show people in private situations, and in some cases, they believed users may not have realised they were being recorded at the time.

Is it just me or is Lemmy being flooded with bottom of the barrel journalism? This is an issue in so many communities that I‘m starting to think it‘s just a few people with multiple accounts pushing an agenda of slop. And people eat it up almost every time.
It’s not just Lemmy. The whole world is being flooded by ever increasing quantities of shit, and filtering through it efficiently is decreasingly easy.

I tend to assume "don't know better, and moderative action for gatekeeping quality on Lemmy is sparse and delayed". Sometimes we just get Reddit's backwash because that's what's easiest, and Redditors are not discerning either.
They know better because they have been told again and again. But they only keep multiplying by the looks of it. Lack of moderation or direction probably is a huge factor I believe.

the private way to use internet is vpns, https, dns over https, decentralized services and not a security camera on your head
