Bunch of mediocre people really sweating right now.

[–] BarrierWithAshes@fedia.io 56 points 6 days ago

Lotta people about to suddenly call in sick.

[–] PerogiBoi@lemmy.ca 8 points 6 days ago

Guilty! Today was really difficult. Essentially just an off day

[–] IHawkMike@lemmy.world 166 points 6 days ago (5 children)

Looks like they found someone.

[–] subignition@fedia.io 19 points 6 days ago (1 children)

What the hell is wrong with the font in that image? It hurts... did someone content aware scale it?

[–] otacon239@lemmy.world 30 points 6 days ago (1 children)

It got reposted at low res at some point and then someone tried an AI upscale to try and make it better.

[–] LostXOR@fedia.io 18 points 6 days ago (3 children)

They couldn't, like... Retype it? No need to use garbage AI for everything.

[–] Wildly_Utilize@infosec.pub 12 points 6 days ago (1 children)
[–] Womble@lemmy.world 8 points 6 days ago

Ironincally using older AI instead of current.

[–] subignition@fedia.io 3 points 5 days ago

Reverse image searching could have probably turned up a better quality copy. :c

Bruh its taken. Unless you can reverse fund the job

[–] JetpackJackson@feddit.org 1 points 4 days ago

What does that mean

[–] whostosay@lemmy.world 7 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago)

Can't they just hire an AI company instead of a person?

And nothing of value was lost.

[–] Agent641@lemmy.world 40 points 5 days ago (2 children)

Sorry, my bad, I asked it how to reverse entropy.

[–] CouncilOfFriends@slrpnk.net 17 points 5 days ago (1 children)

THERE IS AS YET INSUFFICIENT DATA FOR A MEANINGFUL ANSWER.

Don't you just have to make time go backwards?

This is the day after iOS 18.2 was released with native ChatGPT integration.

[–] ptz@dubvee.org 53 points 6 days ago

Oh no! Anyway....

[–] Ste41th@lemmy.ml 46 points 6 days ago (3 children)

Apple did release iOS 18.2 which supports chat gpt integration with Siri, might have a ton of new users all of a sudden

[–] sugar_in_your_tea@sh.itjust.works 15 points 6 days ago (1 children)

I thought they hosted their own LLM...

[–] Ste41th@lemmy.ml 16 points 6 days ago

They are going to but LLM Siri won’t be available till later next year, so at the moment the only improvement to Siri is that it can understand people better especially people with stutters.

Any “Advanced queries get handled by chat GPT.

As for writing tools I’m not 100% sure if it’s their own models they are using at the moment but I think that may have chat gpt capabilities as well.

[–] dinckelman@lemmy.world 20 points 5 days ago (2 children)

[–] maplebar@lemmy.world 25 points 6 days ago

Good. Let it stay that fucking way.

[–] NocturnalMorning@lemmy.world 28 points 6 days ago

Good, hope it never comes back up.

[–] friend_of_satan@lemmy.world 25 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Today Apple released macOS 15.2 with ChatGPT integration. I wonder if this has anything to do with the outage.

[–] elgordino@fedia.io 12 points 6 days ago

Probably more likely to be related to the Sora release or any of the other stuff they’ve announced this week.

[–] andallthat@lemmy.world 17 points 5 days ago

"we were using ChatGPT to design our server architecture and..." (OpenAI PR tomorrow, probably...)

[–] db2@lemmy.world 19 points 6 days ago

Darn. That's just terrible.

[–] dinckelman@lemmy.world 16 points 6 days ago

Hope it can stay that way

[–] morrowind@lemmy.ml 13 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Lot of people will learn about claude today

[–] neon_nova@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 6 days ago (3 children)

I always forget about Claude. How does it compare to chatgpt. Maybe I should switch to it for some time to see.

[–] echodot@feddit.uk 11 points 6 days ago

Well the one thing, it's online.

[–] darkevilmac@lemmy.zip 6 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Limits on the free usage tier but the answers I get from it are usually much more useful to start.

[–] dubyakay@lemmy.ca 9 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago) (4 children)

I have the opposite experience. Hallucinations out the wazoo.

I usually end up using Llama through duck.ai

It's just throwing a hissy fit because Donald Trump promised it could be ambassador to Greece and then picked the Loud Lady instead.

[–] dsilverz@thelemmy.club 10 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Maybe it's something related to Sora? I heard that they recently launched it to the public, and yesterday Altman published about OpenAI having a high demand for signups, so they temporarily shut down new signups.

[–] ExtravagantEnzyme@lemm.ee 6 points 6 days ago

Most likely an infrastructure issue due to the massive increase in network load. It's finals week for many college students, plus the iOS integration and Sora. Definitely a solid 1, 2, 3 punch OpenAI wasn't ready for it seems.

Qwen go brrrr
